SCBN , CFTM.

Tuesday, August 27th, 2002

Orillia, SP - SCBN has struck again, with the second network outage in 6 weeks. The loss of service is apparently due to a break in the connection somewhere between Orillia and Barrie. At 3pm EST, an entire hour after the fibre link went down, it was reported by an SCBN tech that they were ‘just troubleshooting the problem’. Sources say that SCBN uses Bell’s backbone, while the Rogers @Home service in Orillia utilizes what was the Shaw Fibrelink network; Rogers @Home service in Orillia is uninterrupted at this time. Orillia, SP - Development continues on the “Chaos for the Masses” project. The community-driven machine-moderated news and discussion forum hopes to be online by mid-October.

So I noticed that I hadn’t updated in a while. Not too much has been going on, really.. oh, except for the trip to New York City and Boston (amongst others). It was quite enjoyable, and I even managed to “infiltrate” a few buildings while site-seeing. Eventually I’ll add the pertinent photos and anecdotes to the exploration section, but not now…. Since I returned I’ve been up to my eyeballs in work, both at the office and at home. Someone’s recent mention of AI to me has reignited that spark under CFTM. I’ve been thinking about it and and pondering on it all week, and it’s jumped up towards the top of my priority queue. I’ll write a new and informative FAQ soon to replace the outdated and somewhat vague one, and hopefully soon thereafter (lets say October) CFTM will go live to serve up high-quality opinions (as opposed than that crap many people post on SlashDot). Over and out.
